Our Mandate: Based in the USA, we provide subsidized wheelchairs to families in need of financial assistance. The purpose is to encourage an alternative to euthanasia and to extend the life of an otherwise healthy pup, as well as improve their physical and mental quality of life. We are truly a community - and seek to forge long-term relationships with our recipients and partners alike.
Everyone's situation is different, and although we do our best to help every Pup in need, we select our recipients based on the following criteria:
Your Pup's overall condition and need for a wheelchair;
Your Pup's medical condition(s) and timing; and
Your financial situation.

Q: Do you accept applications from families outside the USA? A: Yes! We have helped HRC Recipients from all over the world - from the USA, Canada and even in Australia! We welcome applications from pups of any age, size or breed.
Q: What brand of wheelchair do you work with? A: We work with Walkin' Wheels - a fully adjustable wheelchair for various lengths, heights and widths. It comes in blue, pink and teal.
Q: Do you "give away" free wheelchairs to just anybody? A: No. We specifically assist families who cannot afford a wheelchair for their Pup. We run solely off donations from our friends and followers, and select our recipients based on: their Pup's overall need for a wheelchair, their medical conditions and your financial situation.
Q: Am I guaranteed to get a brand new wheelchair? A: No - as we are a non-profit organization, we strive to find new recipients for our existing wheelchairs within our network. In some cases, we may provide you with a new wheelchair. It greatly depends on what we have available at the time.
Q: My Pup has passed away, or no longer has use for their Wheels. What should I do with them? A: Please send them back to us, so we can help another Pup in need! We ask that you include a photograph of your angel, with a little note for the new recipient. If you need assistance with shipping, please contact us on Instagram or send us an e-mail.
How It Works:
We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that solely runs off of donations from our friends and followers. To apply, please fill out the application below. We welcome applications from all dogs across the globe - any breed or age, are eligible to be considered for a subsidized wheelchair.
If your application is accepted, we will ask that you donate what you can towards the cost of the wheelchair, and we will cover the remaining balance. We will reach out via Instagram Direct Message, and will hold your spot for ten days*. We provide full support for set up of the wheelchair, fitment and training. Once you've had the opportunity to get the wheels together, we ask that you send us a video so our audience can celebrate with you and your Pup, or offer tips or advice if needed. Once you become part of the HRC Family, you're forever part of the HRC Family!

*Please note that at this time, we are unable to process applications for potential recipients with a GoFundMe page, or any potential recipient partaking in any form of independent fundraising.
*Due to an overwhelming amount of applications for pups in need, we are only able to hold your spot for 10 days. Please check your Instagram Direct Messages. If we cannot reach you beyond the 10 day limit, we regret that you may lose your place in line, as there are many pups in need of a wheelchair. We always welcome you to reapply using the application form below.
